Ill-Sturctured/Complex Problem Screencast CEP 812

Hello everyone, this is the beginning of my CEP 812 Class. For this assignment I have to identify what problems may come up while preparing the lesson without the use of technology. Then, how will I use technology to solve the problem I encountered. This is a relevant question to all teachers that don't and do use technology in the classroom. Essentially, can you do without technology in the classroom?…Yes. But, technology allows for a myriad of possibilities that can benefit the student. So, it can be done without technology….but why would you?

Here is my Screecast explaining my thoughts on this topic.

Well-Structured Problem Geometry: Lines and Angles

  1. Nice job on your screencast, Kareem! I love using Prezi with my students. I too find that math can be monotonous and I think Prezi is a great solution. To take it a step further, you could have your students choose one of the geometry topics and create their own Prezi to delve deeper into one of the concepts.

  2. Thank you for sharing this resource, Kareem. I really like Prezi, and I couldn't agree with you more: when students are invested, they are more interested in and committed to the material. Using technology in a meaningful way is a great way to up the engagement factor!

Prezi is a good option because it gives such flexibility in how to build the material in order to meet the specific needs of a classroom or group of students. Have you ever asked your students to create their own Prezi presentations? I wonder how this would impact their level of engagement with the material.

    Again, thanks for sharing.

  4. Great job Kareem. Geometry was never my strong subject, actually not my subject at all. But, your screencast did catch my attention and I could clearly follow along with what you were teaching. Thank you!

  5. I enjoyed your explanation of how Prezi made your content much more visually appealing and interesting to the students. I wish I got to see a little more of how to use prezi.
